SOLECO STINGRAYS TEAM STATEMENT:  The summer swim team experience and participating in swim meets is a FAMILY AFFAIR.  Being a Stingrays parent is a lot of fun and a great way to know other Stingrays families.  PARENTS run the swim meets.  We don't bring in hired professionals--and the result is a true family gathering.  It takes 35-40 parent volunteers to run 1 swim meet.  Your child will thank you for being involved in their swim team experience!

2015 Registration Information


SWIM TEAM FEES:
$100.00 registration
$50 Ecco Domani Fundraiser (Pay $50, receive FIVE $10 Ecco Domani gift cards; maximum $100 purchase per family)
OR
$20 Fundraising Buyout ($40 maximum per family)
Summer Splash registration fees are included in the team dues and the fundraising dollars will help support swim team equipment and an end of the year gift for the swimmers.

NEW SWIM TEAM MEMBERS* must be evaluated prior to acceptance on to the SOLECO Stingrays swim team.  New swimmer evaluation will be held in early May. Date and time TBD.  Funds will be re-imbursed if your child does not qualify for the team.

* New swimmers MUST be registered with the SOLECO pool and team dues ($100) must be paid in full; fundraising fee due at volunteer sign-ups.

Swim Team Policies

1. For HOME meets, swimmers must to be at the SOLECO pool for warm-ups at 4:45 PM; for AWAY meets, swimmers must arrive no later than 5 PM.  Meets start promptly at 6 PM.  All volunteers MUST check in the evening of the meet with the volunteer coordinator.

2. Swimmers need to attend a minimum of 3 practices a week to be eligible to swim in a meet (logged and approved absences by the coach are excused). Attendance is mandatory on meet days.

3. Swimmers may swim a maximum of four events in any one meet.

4. Swimmers need to swim a minimum of four regular season meets in order to be eligible to swim in Championships.

5. Swimmers must attend practice the 5 days prior to Championships to be eligible to swim.

6. Final Championship eligibility will be at the discretion of the Coaching Staff.

7. Parents must sign up for and fulfill volunteer and food requirements. Sign-ups will be held during swim team registration.

8. Pool membership, team membership, waiver form online and food donation fees and volunteer sign-ups must be paid/current for a spot to be held for each swimmer.  Failure to have all fees/donations made will result in your swimmer losing his/her spot on the team.

General Info

1. New Swimmers will be evaluate in early May.  Date, time & pool TBD. 

2. Swimmers must be registered in order to attend evaluations.

3. In order to receive all team updates and emails, please register as a member of our site.  If your email has changed since last season, please re-register and email us a notification of the change… we will be sure to delete the old address from our files.

4. The 2015 team swimsuit will be new this year.  D&J will be attending first day of practice to purchase suits, goggles and accessories. The suit is available at D&J Sports in the Fairmont Shopping Center, Coopersburg.  As always, team suits are optional!.

5. Stingrays practice will begin at SOLECO pool on Tuesday, May 26th (times are posted under the PRACTICE tab).  Please plan to join us that evening for mandatory volunteer sign-ups.  


FEES:
1. All fees, including pool membership dues, must be paid prior to completed Swim Team Registration.

2. All swimmers must also be fully paid members of the SOLECO Pool.

Fundraising fees are due the evening of volunteer sign-ups.  Escrow checks will NOT be collected this year.  Rather, swimmers will not be eligible to participate in meets until fundraising dues are paid and parents have signed up for volunteer and food donation requirements.  Additionally, if volunteer commitments are not fulfilled, swimmers will be ineligible to participate in meets.

May 1 is the deadline for a FULL REFUND of swim team dues.  Please take the time necessary to decide of your swimmer(s) and family are ready for and committed to the season.  We usually have a waiting list for our closed age groups and would like to offer a new swimmer the opportunity to join if your child has changed his/her mind.  A 50% refund of team dues will be offered on withdrawals from May 2 through June 3; after June 3, SWIM TEAM DUES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.

Eligibility

1. Swimmers must be six years of age by June 1 and may swim till the summer after their senior year in high school.

2. Coaches will evaluate new swimmers and returning pre-swim team swimmers place, date and time to be announced.

3. All swimmers must be able to swim 25 meters (one length of the pool) of at least freestyle and backstroke. If a swimmer cannot swim 25 meters, they may be eligible for pre-swim team. Eligibility will be determined by the coaches.

Please Note: The pre-swim team and swim team are NOT intended to be swimming lessons and inclusion will be at the coach’s discretion. 

* After the initial two weeks of practice, lessons may be suggested by the coach and parents are strongly urged to follow coaches suggestion.
